Why War Is Winning... and Peace Is Losing...
So if we want to sell peace - we need better marketing. Okay you get the point, now on to how to learning more about marketing.
I just got off the phone with my new friend Ben Mack - who is a marketing man and author of 'Think Two product Ahead.'
It was a fun, frustrating and at times down-right uncomfortable call. Ben was trying to help me differentiate my relationship coaching company from all the other services that are out there.
Sounds easy at first, until I tried it without being able to use useless terms like better, quality, faster, ect.
Ben has taken his years of marketing and created a simple, but powerful model… see below. i think the democrats would do well studing with Ben.
Anyway keep your eyes open over the next week as I apply what I have learned from this call.

Wake Up... Smell The Coffee... There Are No Tax Cuts. Only Lies!

The small group of diners sat down at fancy restaurant and ordered
dinner. One half of the group ordered steak and wine, the other half,
burgers and beer.
When it comes time to pay the bill, the owner of the restaurant comes
out and says because the folks who ordered the steaks are his friends to
give them 'bill cut' in other words they all get to pay less for their
food. They are most grateful.
But then he looks at the rest of the customers and says. here is the
problem, we have a lots of expenses to pay for and costs have gone way
up. There is a war going on and we have to pay for our Corporate CEO's
multi-million dollar salaries while cutting back on the benefits for our
soldiers.
And someone has to pay the extra cost. and since I can't charge my
friends. it will have to be you. You see it's not a 'tax cut' it's a tax
re-allocation.
Here it is very simply put. your taxes, cut tax dollars to go 'pay the
bill' for running the government. If they overspend, we go deeper into
debt and have to pay interest on top of the cost of running this
country.
Here is the catch. I will go slowly so you get it: the only way - THE
ONLY WAY -- for there to be a tax cut. is for the overall spending to go
down. Anything else is not a tax cut. but a tax reallocation of who
pays the taxes and when.
President Bush did not create a tax cut, he just reallocated who would
pay for all his extra spending.
You may want to read this letter several times. Don't let its
simplicity fool you. We are being lied to. and once you see the truth
it will piss you off..

Blame it on Gay Marraige - $1,000 dollar reward

Local Estes Park resident Paul Sterling is putting his money where his mouth is. He’s offering $1,000 to any anti-gay marriage politician or church that can prove to a panel of counselors and therapists that gay marriage has caused any a healthy heterosexual marriage to fail. He will pay the funds to a charity of the demonstrator’s choosing.
Sterling says with palpable frustration, “In 20 years of studying and teaching communication skills, not once have I met anyone who has said their marriage was great until the gay guys down the street got married (or for that matter - started living together).”
He continues, “No one has ever told me they had a good job with great pay but when the gay women next door got married, they just stopped going to work, started drinking and before they knew it were beating the wife and kids.”
“And I have heard almost every kind of story, teaching The Language of Peace (Nonviolent Communication) to prisoners.” But he’s never heard of gay marriage causing anybody to go to ruin.
In closing he says, “Put up the proof or go back to work… and do something really productive and useful to help the families of Colorado and the USA. What really scares me is that, with all the real issues we face, the politicians and churches could say gay marriage is a threat and keep a straight face.”
Sterling lists nine other issues that would be a better use of the time, finances and efforts of Colorado politicians: environmental policy, global warming, US dependency on foreign oil, immigration, the overseas flight of technical jobs, encroachment of the government on individual’s freedoms, and the biggest debt our nation has ever faced, not to mention the confusing state of tax redistribution to the lower classes, and the War on Terror that’s terrifying the world.

Blame It On Gay Marriage… $1,000 Reward.
Blame It On Gay Marriage… $1,000 Reward.
The environmental policy is being dismantled, by a government in denial, while more and more evidence pours in about global warming (small things like hurricane Katina).
They cry about our dependency on foreign oil and mean while our cars are getting bigger and bigger and government isn’t don’t do anything to really improve gas mileage… their only suggested solution is go into our saving in pristine Alaska and use that up too.
Sort of like the family who can’t budget… then… blames the banks and the credit card companies for having spend their retirement account Hummer so they can look more macho than they feel.
And then what about the domestic problems, we are worried about the Mexicans coming up here and taking our jobs… while an at the same time… tons of higher paying jobs… the one Americans really want, are being shipped abroad without a word – when was the last time you called Microsoft or HP or AOL and didn’t get India?
And I keep hearing about more freedom, less government and less spending while what I see is less freedom, more government and we have gone from having a surplus to the biggest debt our nation has ever faced.
How about those tax cuts… but this is confusing because you to have a “True Tax Cut, you have to reduce spending… anything else is a tax re-distribution. If the government keeps spending more and the rich keep paying less, someone else ends up with the bill. Redistribution … it’s the middle class and the poor.
I am also told our government is at war on terror and yet that seams to be the only thing they are promoting… terror. I am much more afraid to travel abroad then ever. We are making enemies around the world at an alarming rate.
Now, at last, I come to the one thing almost all our current government officials can agree on… it’s the gays fault. We can’t even have them in the military or the most powerful fighting machine will fall apart (that’s a scary thought).
We can’t have them getting married or the institution of marriage will fall apart? These are incredibly powerful people, if all this is true, I say send a small group to
I have spent years as a communication coach, teaching in government, schools, prisons and to the public. And, not once, have I met anyone who has said thier marriage was great until those gays got married (or for that matter – started living together). No-one has told me they had a good job with great pay but when those gays got married, I just stopped going to work, started drinking the next day and before I knew it… I was beating the wife and insesting the kids.
Believe me, from my work in prison, I heard almost every story you can image and many you can’t, but I have never heard of a good relationship falling apart because of the gays getting married… so now it time to ask yourself and your government what really important…
Dear government officials – Kevin Lundberg, Marylyn Musgrave, President Bush, time to stop wasting tax payer dollar and your time and go to work solving real issues… but first let me put my money where my mouth is. I will personally pay a $1,000. donation to the charity of you choice if you can prove to a panel of experts (counselors and therapists) that any couple had a normal, healthy with good communication, had that relationship destroyed because some gays got married.
Clean water and air for the future, job in America worth having, energy prices we can afford, an foreign policy where the rest of the world doesn’t hate and it’s safe to travel, an education system that has funding and oh yeah what about health care and social security?
Are those things more important or do we want our government to focus all of it’s power, resources and your tax dollars on preventing gays from enjoying the frustration, upsets, heart-break and challenges of marriage the rest us suffer with?
Please, please, please... stop the stupid witch hunt and start leading us. Cause to expand our thinking, not contract it, create hope, possibility and inclusion, not fear and separation. Use your power to create a tomorrow our kids can be proud of... oh yeah.. I am not gay, just tired of the lies and accusations.
Paul Sterling
